Celebrating One Year of One Horizon Living
One year ago, Lydia and I took a leap of faith and founded One Horizon Living, driven by a shared belief that building homes is about more than construction. It’s about building a future, creating community, and offering people a place where they feel they truly belong.
Starting a company like this was both exciting and daunting. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, and it hasn’t been. The past year has been filled with challenges: navigating land acquisition, financing, on site construction and the daily problem-solving that comes with creating something from the ground up. But with every hurdle came a lesson, and with every lesson, we grew stronger and more determined.
Through it all, what kept us moving forward was our belief in our mission: To be exceptional in every aspect of our company, ensuring One Horizon Living is committed to support and inspire New Home Construction in the Edmonton Marketplace, with the incredible support we received from those around us, One Horizon Living was born. Every late night, every tough decision, and every small breakthrough was made possible because of the people who believed in One Horizon Living.
We are proud to say that this past year brought some major milestones. Completing our very first home, expanding our footprint into 3 Edmonton Communities; as well, the launch of our “Multi Estates” product which launched construction of 16 rental units in NW Edmonton. Seeing our vision transform from an idea on paper to a vibrant, welcoming space for real families has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives.
But what we’re most proud of isn’t just the buildings themselves, it’s the community that's taking root within it. It’s the conversations in the hallways, the families settling into new routines, the neighbors getting to know each other. That’s the heart of what One Horizon Living is all about.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey, our family, friends, contractors, suppliers, mentors, and residents. Thank you for believing in us, for encouraging us, and for standing with us. Your support has meant everything. With a lot of hard work, an unbelievable support system and genuine love for what we do, this is just the first year in what we hope are countless more in the City of Champions.
As we look to the future, we know our journey is just beginning. Our beginnings are humble, and we intend to stay true to that spirit, working hard every day to earn the trust of the communities we serve. Our dream is for One Horizon Living to become a name that stands for quality, care, and connection.
